Abbas is the Regional Head, Project & Export Finance and responsible for originating and executing project finance transactions in the Middle East, Pakistan, Africa, Europe & Americas

Leading one of the largest Project & Export finance teams in the region with 20 individuals focused on advising, structuring and arranging financing for large energy/infrastructure projects.

Advised, structured and executed over 50 power and water deals in the region raising more than US$ 75bn debt, including advising/structuring more than 70 GW of new power generation and water projects that produce over 1,900 million imperial gallons per day in the region.

Advised KEPCO on the development of a 5,600MW nuclear project in Abu Dhabi. The Project represents the first nuclear power generation plant in the GCC region and one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the region. Recently advised Saudi Aramco/ACWA Power/Air Products on the US$12bn Jazan Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle Project.

Abbas has worked in finance for twenty-five years and has extensive experience in credit analysis, structuring and documentation. Before joining SCB, he worked for Citibank, managing a portfolio of MNC's and local corporates. Prior to that, Abbas worked at Bank of America managing a diversified portfolio.

Abbas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from Cornell University.
